Coordinator of Teacher Engagement and Professional Development

(Full-time, Exempt)

The Coordinator of Teacher Engagement and Professional Development will organize and facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers across Teaching for Change’s program and project areas, including but not limited to: anti-bias education, teaching about Central America, Teach the Beat: Go Go in the Classroom, the Tellin’ Stories Project, and Civil Rights Teaching. At Teaching for Change’s partner schools, the coordinator will work with teachers, administrators, parent coordinators, and family engagement committees providing training and coaching on the Tellin’ Stories approach.

This position leads our efforts to build and support a local network of social justice teachers who are connected to Teaching for Change’s work. The ideal candidate will have at least several years of teaching experience in public schools with knowledge of multicultural education and critical pedagogy, and demonstrable skills in curriculum design and workshop facilitation.
