Over the last 35 years, Teaching for Change has given teachers and students in tens of thousands of U.S. classrooms tools to create schools where students learn to read, write, and change the world. Over the last 10 years alone, more than 24,000 teachers have participated in our programs — and now we are looking to broaden and deepen our impact.
Today we’re excited to introduce a new look for Teaching for Change as part of our 35th anniversary celebration.
Our refreshed design is part of how we are strengthening our work during our 35th anniversary year. This brighter, bolder style reflects our commitment to provide a strong foundation to build social justice, starting in the classroom. Our new logo, with elements of an open book and a rising sun, represents our work with teachers to go beyond the textbook and toward new horizons.
This updated look is just the start of important work ahead.
In the next five years, between now and our 40th anniversary, the need for young people to be informed and engaged is all the more urgent. Therefore, we aim to bring Teaching for Change’s resources to 10,000 schools — that’s close to 10% of all schools in the country.
