Thank You to Our Donors

We are thankful for the many people who have donated this past week in honor of the memories of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery; in protest of their murders; and in support of education for a world where Black Lives Matter.

We share here some of the recent dedications and comments we’ve received.

I’m donating to support this organization’s work of shifting education objectives, in an attempt to liberate the next generation. — Courtney Chase, Fort Washington, Maryland

This donation is dedicated to the Teaching for Change educators I have worked with who are supportive, kind, humble, and most of all incredibly good at what they do — providing us with endless resources to help us improve our school community on our quest for a just and equitable society. I appreciate you all today and always! Thank you for all you are doing to support our communities during this trying time! — Rachel Perla Ralles, Washington, D.C.

To the future — may the change we want to happen start in the pages of books and minds of our youngest citizens. — Kelly Gillespie, Rockville, Maryland

I am donating to this project as an elementary teacher. We need more books that represents our kids and start the conversations for action. — Anonymous, Brooklyn, New York

Honoring all the BIPOC men and women who never had a chance to tell their stories in written form. — Benny Padilla, Arlington, Virginia

Thank you for these helpful lists to educate myself and my four-year-old son about racism and to add some more diversity into our mostly white bookshelf. — Anonymous, Bruce Rock, Washington

In addition, the company Munchkin is donating their profits from Mondays in the month of June to Teaching for Change to support our work on early childhood, anti-bias education. Their CEO explained why in a statement, We Are Not Neutral, Black Lives Matter. We are pleased that Teaching for Change is the first group to be selected.
